This WIP is for a Ernie Pile bust a fellow member of our club printed and gave out.

The detail on this bust was a nice change from all of the issues with the Scale75 sub diorama.

Next update all of the primer/first stage of highlighting will be shown. This bust will be one that will have a good combination of acrylic inks and painted entirely with acrylics.

Thanks! This was a cool surprise when I visited the my local club. I'm also going to print some items and give them out at the next meeting.

I really need to get over my technophobia and use my 3D printer, had it nearly a year now!

Cheers Simon

The best suggestion I can give you is print a simple object such as a square or flat object. Its totally worth it if you do!

It really is a relaxing piece. I love the sculpting of the coat and it has the challenge of the goggles.

Yes, those cork holders have come in handy. I printed one for the Uboat project that had a 10-up one that can hold 10 corks.

Finally had some time to sketch in all of the highlight/shadows before any colors are applied.

All of the colors shown are inks (black, raw umber, and white) and this was a super good time because it was all air brush work. I usually do all of my sketching in air brush before I move to the brush.

On a side note, the light these are taken in is tinting the photo color orange.

Nice start and good use of the airbrush giving a great surface to apply paint to. Though on the last picture on the heads left side you missed a seam line, photos are so good at showing what the eye can miss. Looking forward to seeing this progress it is an interesting looking bust.

Cheers Simon

This was something I thought about patching but I want to figure out how to use it, lol. Like a WW2 Scarface. The sculptor of this bust did a great job as I'm hoping he does more WW2

Thank you as I didn't see this at first. Looks like I need to patch this up. I do like the scar on the face though as I might keep some of this and have fun with it.

Sounds like a good plan, faces tend to be unblemished in this hobby so a good scar will add much interest.
