Following the announcement from the existing owners that Euro Militaire will no longer Exist, there was dismay both in the Trade and the Modelling Fraternity who have supported this event over 31 years. By now I hope everyone will realise that Euro is being revived as Euro Miniature Expo and taken over by Modellers once again. In other words back to the days of Ray Lamb and Lynn Sangster. This time the show will be owned and managed by Adrian Hopwood and his son Thomas, Steve Kirtley of SK Miniatures and Richard Worton of Oakwood Studios-all of whom are prominent Modellers and Traders in the UK and known throughout the Modelling Community.

The dates for the 2017 show remain as does the location. There has been a superb response from the Trade both in the UK and on the Continent all willing to support the new organisers. Knowing them as I do I am sure that all of the negatives surrounding the show will be dealt with, for example an open competition which has long been denied at Euro.

I am writing this as it is so important that not only the trade but also the public (modellers) support this event in September. Please tell your friends, here in the UK and especially overseas, that this is not the end but a new beginning. The trade need your support and I am assured that there will be a number of new releases reserved to support this new event

I'm sure the organisers will be posting much more concerning this in the coming weeks but I notice that this hasn't been flagged in the Events section of PF so decided to post this short summary.

Hope to see you all there.
Keith

My first Euro was in 2009, and I have been waiting for the opportunity to make the long (and expensive) return journey. That will take place next September, 2018. So I offer my heart felt congratulations to those courageous members of the modelling community who have taken this on. I wish you all the success possible, and hopefully there will be an even better show for me to attend in a year's time. In the mean time, I'll hopefully see you at the World Expo in Chicago.

Being close to Adrian and hearing continual snippets from modellers at shows over the last month, it is encouraging to hear so mych support and best wishes from rank and file modellers who want this to succeed.
Can I ask any and all Planeteers who are displaying at regional shows between now and August to ask for Euro leaflets to give away.
I will gladly arrange to post them to you free of charge.

Paul.

Thanks Keith for posting this up. Plans for the show are coming along nicely - please see updates on the Face book page https://www.facebook.com/Euro-Miniature-Expo-1570805296267910/
I will also post updates on PF as well to keep you in the loop. There is a lot still to do, but we have all been encouraged by the offers of support & the general enthusiasm for the show. Thanks so much!
