Kenneth, It interesting to see what you come with next. The settings always have more than the "usual figure on some groundwork with static grass" look. Dan touched on some very valid points in regards to the figure, now let's see what you do with the painting.~Gary

Hey Kenneth...he's looking great so far...I like the greatcoat and the overall campaign weary look.
This particular period is very rich with subjects and these type of regiments offer the modeller the chance to make some very special pieces...looking forward to your next set of pictures.

All the best..Roy.

Thank you very much,Gary;your comments are always greatly appreciated :) !!! I'm working on the groundwork now,so hopefully the next set of progress shots will make the scene a little clearer. Cheers !
Kenneth.

Hi Roy  !
Thank you very much for the encouragement; I really appreciate it :) :) !!! Yes,the moment I saw the colour-plates in the Osprey book,I knew I had to re-create some scene from this period in history,it was that inspirational ! Cheers !
Kenneth.

Kenneth, my dear friend, another beautiful creation for sure, I'm lloking forward to seeing more. ;)

Continue the great sculpting.

:) Cheers

Hi Kenneth!
Very impressive work, as always :) I very like animal motives on your vignettes.

Best regards
Artur

Artur,my friend, thank you very much for the kind comments;I really appreciate them   !!! I'm starting on the groundwork today and I hope to post more updates soon. Cheers !

Hi guys  !
Just a quick update on my current project. I started on the groundwork yesterday by building up the area around the resin trenchwork with compressed florist polystyrene. I also added the "prey" that the trooper's pet cat is eyeing, hence the title ;) !! Next-up will be the ground-cover proper and the painting stage. Thanks for looking and cheers !
Kenneth :)

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, but I can't seem to get rid of the reflected glare of the light from the surface of the polystyrene foam !)

Kenneth, my friend, I like the way you did the ground work, looking forward to seeing it painted.

Keep up the goosd work.

Cheers
Roc. :)

Kenneth, I enjoy the way you group an animal with almost every figure you do. I also notice you build your groundwork not only around your figures, but often under them. Is this just a personal choice? Just curious.~Gary

Thanks for the support,Gary  !! Yes, the groundwork extending over the base helps to give a 3-dimensional look to the vignette and makes it more interesting to the viewer. As for the animals,I just LOVE small creatures in my vignettes. Hope that satisfies your curiosity. Cheers !
Kenneth :) .
