Just got this magnificent set from Steve K.

Like to swap the heads out for Hornet and perhaps try and do them as US Army , either Leg Infantry or Air Cav. Not my period and no references. Any uniform difference problems with that idea ?

The USMC M1955 frag' vests are different from the Army M1969 ones and you'll need to change the webbing quite a bit if they're wearing USMC M1961 equipment (I can't really tell from the photos). Might be a nice little conversion project though.

Hi Richard,

as Harry said, the flak vest and some of the equipment was different of USMC and Army. Actually, Army soldiers hardly wore flak vests, besides the vest, the M17 gas mask bag and the Jungle first aid kit (square puch at the back btw the canteens) doesn't fit. So it might be just too difficult to convert because of the vest.

Thanks much Harry & Denes, more work to convert then my skill set allows so I will do them as stock USMC. Thanks for the great references site.
