Painted these today, are they straight? To me they look out.

Damn Carl, you do not mess around my friend! This poor guy must still have jet-lag, and here you are painitn' on him.......COOL!

I agree, the left eye (his) looks good, right eye is off a tad to his right (tiniest bit) and the color looks like it could be just a shade darker. Keep it up!

Well done.

I think it's OK for the eyes to go in slightly opposite directions. Just as long as they aren't crossing. The pigment for the irises are particularly well executed. Which figure is that? Your paint job makes me want to buy it.

I think that's what must have been wrong, they were jet lagged.:D
I've redone them as I wasn't happy. The bust is by Lost battalion.
PS. Thanks Jay,
Carl.

better

Don't mean to be picky but the iris's might be a bit small. Compare them to the first ones and they look the correct size to me. Perhaps just make them a tad larger. They look symmetrical now though. keep going my man. I'm surprised you havent finished 2 or 3 figures by now tbh!:D

Yeah, they're more consistent in the repaint Carl but the irises are definitely too small now. A rough rule of thumb is that the iris should take up about 1/2 (!) of the visible eyeball.

Doing them around this size also helps to prevent another common painting error, where the iris doesn't touch the lower lid.
