Hi Friend's.
This is what I have been working on since my last bust.
This is a Hobbyboss kit.
I'm dedicating this to George my cat who sadly died during this build.
Rip George.
All the best.
Ralph.

No legs?

No sword?

No musket?

What is this ?

It looks great to me ralph, but what do I know ?

All I know about aircraft modelling is they seem to spend hours defining panel lines on the models
that you can't actually see on real aircraft unless you are a foot away Raplh
If the panel gaps were as wide as scribed by modellers, they would be at least 25mm wide or more.

But as long as they are happy....:D

Paul

That's a very nice looking F-14 Ralph.
Re. panel lines, I've read all the arguments for and against and discussed the subject with modellers but in my opinion there's no getting away from the fact.... they look good! RIP George, it's not nice losing a pet. :sorry:

I am sorry I should've made myself clearer, every word is spot on Roger I agree.
Also Sorry about George Ralph. Losing a pet is bloody 'orrible for the whole family.

That's fine Paul, I knew weren't criticizing Ralph's aircraft, from what I've read recently it seems to be a bit of a hot topic along with over weathering of afv's.

Fank Gawd... I must take more care howw and what I type.

It could 've sounded like I was saying your model didn't look realistic Ralph
and I'm sat here painting a dragon in Napoleonic uniform smoking a pipe.... Honest!

Paul

Hi Ralph,

Looks good always amazed at all the work that AC modellers do and you can do both !

Are you putting this with a pilot figure perhaps

Glad you are enjoying this and a lovely tribute to George (RIP)

Thanks for sharing

Cheers Nap much appreciated.:)
I won't be putting a figure with it.If it was with the kit I would, but most kits these days don't.
Thanks also about George.:)

Hi Ralph, I know nothing about and have little interest in building aircraft but I do like to look at them.
So from my limited knowledge base this looks great (y)
Cheers

Thank's Derek,much appreciated.
I don't know a great deal about aircraft.just like building models.:)

Beautiful job on that Ralph. I like it a lot.

Sorry to hear about George. That's the worst thing about having four-legged family members, it's a terrible wrench when their time comes.

Very much so Roger. Too much and an aircraft model can end up looking like a patchwork quilt. Not enough and it will just look like a toy. I'm in the "slightly emphasised panel lines" camp because I feel it gives scale aircraft a bit more character and dimension.

I always felt it looked overdone until I was asked to make a Beaufighter for a friend last year. He wanted the full weathered look so I decided to learn how to do it. Along the way I started to look for photographic evidence and its surprising how grubby they get,and yes, how wide the panel lines actually look, especially on bare metal

and no, I'm not posting the beaufighter....
Looks good, Ralph , and very sorry for your loss
