I spoke with Kevin yesterday and he suggested I put this out there. My FB page has been permanently disabled due to violating their community standards regarding identity. There one and only one appeal which was a facial recognition process. It didn’t satisfy them so I am disabled. I tried to create another account but it recognized my IP address from my phone and computer so that was a no go. I not sure what else to do. You can’t talk to anyone there so if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. I have no idea why this happened and am at a loss. Starting to ramble now. Thanks for your time,
Rod Curtis (Bassman)

Facebook sucks especially after they laid off staff and fact checkers. Would using a VPN provide a work around re. the banned IP?

Wow, that is not surprising, but frustrating, nonetheless. Though I've never been a Spacebooker, nor a Myfacer, I expect this to get worse as time goes on. AI will make judgment calls and there will be no argument from a human. And that, my friends, it total and complete Bravo Sierra!!

Sorry to hear it, Bassman, but keep posting here, cause we love your work! 😉

There's no recourse. You're basically screwed, until you can find another IP address, like a new computer or mobile device.
There is an appeals process, with a separate link from the main website, but I have never found them to reverse a decision, so, it's a kangaroo court.
Until Zuckerberg might change the site's basic policies, or someone else might buy him out and change things, you're at the mercy of the established administration.
If I didn't belong to pages and groups for the hobby, I'd bale on it, too. Not only are the policies crap, but the site itself is crap. Poor design, and I speak as someone who tests software applications for a living. But the poor design doesn't yet reach the point where enough people have no tolerance and might leave for another platform, to warrant the kind of analysis to implement change.
Prost!

Steve,
That is the frustrating part! no human to talk to. I know I’m not the only one that this has happened to. I appreciate the comments Steve.

That is it in a nutshell. The appeal process is a joke! They won’t tell you what you did, just what could be the reason. I going to get with my tech son who has a VPN and see what can be done. The problem is most of my modeling friends contacts are tied to FB. I just have a few direct email addresses. Not really sure it’s worth it. We will see.
Thanks for your comments.
