A bust of JMD that I had misunderstood when it first came; because of the boxart I thought It was a zombie soldier that I hate... Now, I apologize.

Indeed very realistic sculpted face of a veteran warrior (see the recent trauma to the head and the old one in mouth) faced with surprise, awe, frustration and distress the fatal, at the very moment of battle.

Just because he is a combatant and not on parade, just wanted to mess him with dried blood, dust and soot and to portray his face flushed from the battle by using red and black colors. His shock and agony is indicated both by the bulging eyes and the pale forehead.

Painted in oil on acrylic substrate, left the backpack back and some minor details to complete.

I have alaways agreed with you post-paint assessment of this bust, that he is in fact wounded in in a moment of high drama. Ithink you have donea wonderful job here.
 
It's very well done but it's not something I'd want to have staring at me from out of my own display cabinet.
