Hey dear guys,

as i wrote down in my "im new thread" i do not only build figures. I had a lot of trouble some weeks ago building an airplane that has a lot of wooden parts. It drove me crazy painting all these wood-textures. When some of you guys try to build a Wingnut Wing you can deeply feel what i mean :)

Yesterday i found a very very exciting homepage that will solve all these problems :

http://www.uschivdr.com/

This guy (or lady ? :) ) is producing wood-grain decals.

On the homepage you can find a nice step by step at the online tutorial, including a video.
The effect on the albatros is in my oppinion very very excelent and i can tell you that i preordered my first 2 sets this morning :)

When i was ordering i went by phone and asked if more varaints are coming, the dude on the other side told me that they did some decals for airplanes right now, next will be for AFVs (like the nice 1950s US Cars which have some nice woodparts on their side) and then for ships.

I hope you guys find these decals as good as i find them, when i saw these i MUST have to show you

greets

At the risk of taking business away from the decal makers, I'd like to add that this month's issue of "Fine Scale Modeler" includes an article on reproducing wood grain in miniature, painting by hand. The article may also be available at FSM's website, though I haven't checked. But interested folks might want to look at the article, too.

Prost!

Hey guys,

i´m glad you like these things too.

@Kwen: That are some nice decals too. Thnx for the input

@Brad: Thanks for that info too. I will give the decals a chance, painting wood in large areas like on a airplanebody was driving me crazy, but i will sure check that articel.
