Hi again David. Just noticed that you posted your comments twice. So I will reply twice. I am not a BIG NAME as you call them. In fact, none of us are. Everyone on PF come in the same scale. Just have a look at my latest post on the vbench. "A rare shot". It's not that good. It's got its faults. But everyone that's posted, and there are a few, have given really positive feedback. That's what this forum is all about. Being supportive to each other, whether you have been modelling for a year or 50 years, it don't matter. For me, this worldwide modelling club is the best thing out there and its not nice to be disrespectful. I'm sorry if I'm coming across as preachy, but that's just me!!

Welcome, David, nice work, you're wrong about the Planet, and if you have trouble uploading images, try using a host site, like Photobucket (my own choice), Fotki, etc. You upload your photos to the hosting site, and it will generate the image tags that you can enter into posts here and in other webpages throughout the Internet. Then you don't have to worry about the file or image size restrictions at any given site.

Prost!
Brad

Come on David, lighten up a bit!
Speaking as an Unelite, I've always believed that if your'e good enough, there's no need to be elitist, and if your'e not good enough, there's no point! Best wishes, Gary.

P.S. I have to totally disagree with Jazz, I am a big name, but I wouldn't be half as big if I got up off my backside and did some excercise now and then!!!!

Ok Ok, mind I'm still hoping Sang Eon and his colleague, might actually reply to the accolades heaped on them for their latest ( incredible) new release bust posted on this site. I know SL speaks English, coz he gave me some tips direct once and wouldn't it be great to get input from guys like that????

They both comment regularly Dave.
It's just a case of watch that space.(y)

Can't believe I missed this first time round........on first reading of this and your current go at Carl Reid I thought here's someone keeping the boabie tradition alive, this is someone who just wants to Troll.
On reflection however you at least backed up your position by posting your early stage sculpts of McEnroe and Steve Austin which I'll be keen to see develop.(y)
As at best an average modeller and painter I'm pleased to say that I've received nothing but support and advice from members on this site including sculptors, manufacturers and suppliers. pF is not a show gallery it's a discussion forum.
The problem is the language you appear to have deliberately used in your comments about how you 'improved' the Albert Ball sculpt is classic troll crap designed to offend, annoy, intimidate all without constructive input.
Mind you things have got a bit tame here lately after a few regular trolls have disappeared so it's nice to see someone picking up the baton.
Then again maybe you are a traditionalist after all.....we wait with breath abated(y)
Cheers
Derek

David,
Del worded it beautifully.

We're a friendly bunch who are eager to help interested people who treat themselves as equals without belittling others albeit with lack of insight.
As Del rightly pointed out, there have been a few rivet counters who self confess that they "collect figures" and not paint them or never post their work but are happy to give their wealth of critique experience of painting figures as it makes up for them not producing anything.
However, there is a dearth of members who will genuinely give you their honest opinions and impart their knowledge making the site invaluable.

It's up to you how you want to proceed and how open mind you are to the forum.

Hope to see more of your work

Gells

Hi David,
It seems you're unsure if amateur sculptors can get a warts and all appraisal of their work here. There are many skilled sculptors here prepared to share their experience and indeed help any one who asks.
I'm not one of those skilled sculptors unfortunately, but I can say that your John McEnroe does seem to make a really good Starsky, as in Starsky and Hutch.......but I guess there's less call for Starskys than McEnroes.
