Hi fellow Planateers.
Recently completed this 54mm version of Wild Bill himself.
I managed to pick up this and another one which have been unavailable for a wee while and just loved the dynamic pose. I added the tethering post and bullet splinters (hence the title) to help tell a little story of a tired and dusty man being caught momentarily off guard . . .;)

All painted in acrylics as the last few (This is my 5th such and I'm starting to get a liking for the medium) Groundwork is Das with a little road dust and a few bristles from a paint brush. The figure is another of the beautiful castings by Roger Saunders - if you haven't tried one yet you're missing a treat and bargain priced too!

Comes to something when I look at the photos and I'm dissapointed with them, I'm really pleased with how this one turned out, even managed a small highlight on the eyes (which is a first!)
As usual comments welcome
Cheers
Paul

That's a fine job you've done on this Paul (y)
Took the main picture down to scale and it's even mor impressive particularly like the trousers.
Cheers

It's a beauty, very well painted. (I have this figure in my collection so I am biased ) Shame you cant get the rest of the collection.
Regards

Thanks Derek (My good lady said the trousers were flippin' ridiculous which I took to be good) ;)

Cheers Derek - I've got a few more in the grey army waiting their turn . . .

Paul

Cheers Ralph - really enjoyed this one (Isn't it funny how you can have several figures on the go and then one just lights your fire and you're off . . . .) :)

Nice bit of painting and presentation.
Wild Bill seems to be getting popular lately.
I'll have to have to have a go at my version that came with Figure International a while back.

Cheers,
Andrew

Cheers Huw :)
After I'd blocked them in I thought he needed something with a bit more visual interest given the plain jacket

There are a number of fallacies about the 'Wild West'. The slower draw usually resulted in a kill, not a fast draw; 'fanning' the hammer was not effective; law enforcement officers were more likely to use a shotgun - better at close quarters than a revolver and a bowler hat was more likely to be worn than a stetson!

Nicely painted figure.
