... Ok - you asked . "Here are the votes of the Belgian jury".

- 54mm : Metal Modeles Chasseur d'Afrique 1854 by Michel Saez
- 70-75mm : EX-Poste Militaire (now Elite) French Corporal of 77th Regt. Line infantry 1870 by Derek Hansen.
- 90mm : Debra Raymond Sergeant of 95th Rifles 1815 by David Grieve.
- 120mm : Debra Raymond private of the 28th North Gloucestershire regt. of foot 1815 (although this one is listed as 100mm, it's somewhat bigger)
- Bust : Debra Raymond Blucher by David Grieve.
- Special award for "excellent figure for which I also have a soft spot in my heart": 120mm PiLiPiLi Texas Cowboy 1880.

"That concludes the votes of the Belgian jury"

I had to think about this question before I posted. I believe my favorite figure would be from the English sculpter Julian Hullis, His best of Show at Euro-Militaire, 1991 for his "One-of-a-kind" Mongol Archer titled "Watching The Steppes". I would of loved to see this figure come out commercially. I like everything I have seen from Jullian.

My second choice would be from the retired Pat Bird, of the former Series 77 Miniatures . He produced a 90mm Mountain Man that you will see in several of my vignettes, both stock and converted. I have painted around a dozen of them over the years and just found and bought another one too.

My favorite bust would be Pili Pili's Crow Warrior.......outstanding

Robin,

Here are a couple of mine-

Elite's 90mm Corporal-Sapper 17th Battalion "Chassuers a Pied" Woerth 1870(Excellent character in the face, cool pose)

Metal Models 54mm Officer D'Infanterie Allemand 1914 (Love the pose)

Outside the one's I've sculpted the two above are my favorite...and their not even painted yet!

Robin,

My choices would be these :

1/35 - Tamiya's plastic samurai. Great, inexpensive practice kits.
54mm - Benieto's mounted samurai. Love the pose.
70-80mm - Fusilier's German Infantryman, Verdun 1916. All the horrors of trench warfare.
90mm - Pegaso's Ashigaru arquebusier. Beautifully detailed.
120mm - Model Cellar's Manfred von Richthofen. Best likeness of the subject, nicely detailed.
bust - Pili Pili's Kyoto Belle. So many canvases (y) !

I guess it's obvious I prefer Japanese and WWI subjects.

My choices would have to be Roger Saunders' Polish tank officer and WREN in the wind, John Rosengrant's 200mm Waffen SS MG42 gunner and Jon Smith's 120mm Sturmtruppen 1918, but really there are just so many that qualify as favorites.
I guess 20th century is my period :)

LCoote, i'd have to second that one "John Rosengrant's 200mm Waffen SS MG42 gunner" it is still to this day one of the most striking and memorable figures.. other than it's sheer size! There have been many more since , but none of the rest of those 200mm's have that "look".

It's one of the only kits I own.

Favorite Figures:

1/35th - Yanks Medic Figure, great pose!

54mm - Not sure about this one, so many! Pegasos Celitc Standard bearer is great though.

90mm- Poste Millitaire Wolf Scout

120mm - Most Roll Call figures and Stormtroopers German in Stalingrad

200mm- Have to agree on the Rosengrant MG42 Gunner, someone would make a
killing if they re released that kit.

Bust - Andrea 1/8th scale Pirate Bust & Poste Militaire's Native American Busts.
