He Wastes No Time...
Four days after his "seizure of power", on February 3, 1933, Adolf Hitler - at that time still Chancellor and not yet allmighty "Fuehrer" - met with the Reichswehr Minister Werner von Blomberg...
...and the highest generals of the Reichswehr.
In the private apartment of General Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord...
... Hitler gives speech...
... and makes it absolutely clear to the commanders what he intends to do and what he will need them for:
The conquest of "living space" for the German people in the East and at the same time the fight against Bolshevism and Judaism!
The generals listen to the new chancellor's two and a half hour-long rant, who repeats the most important passages up to ten times - and remain silent, some even expressly agree!
(What Hitler does not knew is that Reichswehr Lieutenant General Curt Liebmann...
... who was present, secretly took down the speech and then made a copy, which we see in the picture.)
Even at this very early stage of the "Third Reich", their quiet companionship goes so far that not even one of them warns Reich President von Hindenburg, who could depose the "Führer" again at any time and dissolve the Reichstag by emergency decree...
Two things are interesting about this event:
After only two days in office, Hitler threw off the mask of "peace politician" among the generals and openly said that he wanted to wage war.
And secondly:
A copy of the "Liebermann transcript" reached the Moscow Kremlin and Stalin's hands via the German Communist Party's internal intelligence service, which was still intact at the time.
And he did likewise - nothing, although the country he led had already been clearly identified as the main target...
