Not sure about this one, it may be a candidate for the stripping bath. I was going for a ‘spent a few days and nights in the wild’ look rather than a Hollywood look, or someone off the Hogmanay Show.

The scruffy look comes natural to my scruffy style of painting but I think this has gone too far. My first attempt at tartan which, again, I didn’t want to look touristy but a more rustic look.

I learned a big lesson trying to paint tartan, never to try again.........:D

Another great subject from Ken at Mil-Mart that deserves to be done better.

Graham, there's a reason that there wasn't any ' envelope art' I too hate painting tartan. (y)

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I will do a better tartan at some point on a soldier figure. I just wanted this to be a home weave tartan, she didn’t look right to me in a red version.

That cross belt must chafe a bit though :D

You're really going full-on on the flats. I think she looks quite good. Decency saved by the cross belt (well, somewhat).

Hi Graham

Well she's certainly a bonny lass wearing the mini kilt.... all credit to you for this , thank goodness for the crossbelt ...lol

Tartan....l.lnot seen on too many busts ...phew!!

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Nap,

Cheers Nap. Maybe you will get a bust with a tartan waistcoat one day :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure Cumberland's men would have enjoyed having a bunch of them to deal with:LOL:. Nicely done Graham.

Phil
