Completed FeR, 1st Minnesota, First Mannassas, 1861

[Viking Bob]

My last one for 2015
I have loved painting this bust, the detail is superb. The musket is a piece of art in itself.
I was in two minds on how to paint this one, either in the lighter blue of one of the other company's or grey for company K Winona volunteers. In the end I went for Red.
The 1st Minnesota was one of the last regiments to leave the battlefield and suffered among the highest casualties of any northern regiment: 49 killed, 107 wounded and 34 missing.
