Are Figure International and Historical Miniatures magazines still in publication? If not what are some good alternatives that deal specifically with figures?

I believe I read somewhere that Historical Miniature was going to publish as a "webzine," perhaps on their site or the former publisher's site.

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't bought a figure magazine in three or four years! The internet is pretty much meeting my needs.

I hear ya Steve...and you shouldn't be embarrassed. You just had the fortitude to speak up. I too have not bought any magazines in roughly the same time period. There is just so much available to the painter now both in the form of pictures (here on pF and other sites) and videos as well (youtube has some REALLY good ones up now).

I still like magazines (and will still buy them), it's just that I haven't in years. Another thing I find stopping me is the back issues. At $15 apiece and 3 or 4 years of not buying?....you get the idea.

My two favorites were the English edition of Tradition and Campaigns. I don't see any figure painting mags on my local, rather extensive, magazine rack and so don't buy any, turning instead to the free and proprietary tutorials on the internet. I did discover a few months ago, however, a DVD version of all of the Campaigns issues, about 47 of them. I bought the set and found that the scanning and menu were well done, and that the magazine itself was set up so that there are not many two-page spreads that would,of course, be split in half. The cost is a little under $150, just over $3.00/issue, and is available here: http://campaignsmagazine.com/.
I imagine that it would most likely appeal to those who remember the magazine when it was in production ("damn' few left"), but I can attest that the offer is genuine and the scans well done: http://campaignsmagazine.com/

But that is also gone.

That's a shame. It was a great magazine; always could have used a copy editor, IMHO (I am one professionally) but the content was excellent. The "Prepare to Advance" series should have been published as a combined booklet, or as a PDF.
