Hey guys,

Taking a little day trip down to Buffalo on saturday, and was wondering if there was anything i should check out ?

Unfortunately, it's a mall to mall trip, so not quite downtown...but any suggestions are welcome!!

Alex,

I've spent a little time in Niagara but haven't found any shops with a decent figure selection. The best hobby shop in the area is Niagara Hobbies at 3366 Union Rd., although when I was there in September the selection of plastic kits wasn't as good as it was a year or two ago. But they do have a nice variety of supplies, and you might even find something useful in the doll house section. Their number is 716-681-6060.

I would suggest ACE HOBBY in Niagara Falls, NY. He's a super nice guy and has a lot of Ospreys, military modelling, and military illustrated, along with some figure stuff.~Gary

Hi Niagara Hobbies is useless for figures beyond DML, Tamiya etc. 1/35 scale. They have other stuff for supplies, but nothing special. The book section has loads of Osprey, but you'd think history began in 1850. There's NOTHING on older stuff except for some coverage of old steam engines.

There is a shop in Niagara Falls NY (I think that's ACE Hobbies) with lots of goodies. It's right near the main drag to the border crossing. They have lots of mags, and Verlinden figures etc. Some other figures too. Not bad if you're cruising by. And they can order stuff for you.

The decent figure place in Rochester closed down, so I'm buying the occasional mini at the local wargame shops otherwise it's shopping online (which I shouldn't do, because the grey army is mighty large). I haven't tried Syracuse yet, but basically it's internet or nothing for anything that isn't WW2 or later.

Good hunting!

Andy

So very true John..........all those years of buying and now being retired.....my gray army of beautiful figures is now awaiting me. I am so glad I accumulated these figures over the years.

I'll tell my wife that John and Guy!!
:p

The only problem is all those bills rolling in. I do need the heat and light to work on figures, and I suppose food is necessary too. The dog certainly thinks so!

There's a shop here in town selling off old Ral Partha stuff. Man, there are some cool minis! I got an orcy looking fellow riding a lizardy beast the other day. Amazing detail on the mini and the lizard/dinosaur is very cool. There are boxes full of minis sitting on the floor at the shop, begging for someone to root through!

For some reason, SWMBO didn't want to hang out there for an hour while I perused the possibilities...

And Alex. You describe it as a Mall to Mall trip. If you cross right at the falls the decent hobby shop is about a mile and a half from the border (ok lets say 2km) and just off to the right. You have to go past there to get to the interstate!!! It's on the way man!!

Cheers
Andy

What I wouldn't give to be able to go through all those boxes of Ral Partha. I have painted many many of their figures years ago.
