Hi Everyone,

I am taking my family to Williamsburg, VA on July 22. I'll have time for a quick side trip and I am wondering if there are any hobby shops there that cater to figure painters. Thanks in advance.

Paul, I went there about 3-4 years ago and did not see any hobby shops, though I was overwhelmed looking at all the historical sites. Unfortunately I think the Martin Hundreds site is temporarily closed. I found it to actually be one of the highlights for me. Seeing that you'll be there in July, be sure that every member of the family is toting a water bottle as it gets seriously hot down there. We were there in August and the one day the heat index was about 105! Getting back to hobby shops, I would look in the local phone book once you get there. Have fun, it's beautiful country.~Gary

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the tip on the water bottles. We are going to be very cautious with the heat, especially with the little ones. I'll let you know what I find when I get back. I am expecting the place to be wall to wall inspiration. I hope to post some pctures of my Franch marine soon.

Paul,
I live inVirginia Beach and make a lot of day trips to Williamsbutg. The only hobby shops in the area are Hobby USA and Hungates. More art and crafts then hobby shops. Denbeigh Hobbys near Williamsburg is pretty good if you are into plastic kits. Other wise, mail order is the way to go. Don't miss Yorktown!
