Just seen on my local tv station, midlands UK, that at an asda store they are making 8 inch model figurines of customers for them to buy. There is a high tech photo booth that takes photos of you from all angles then the info is fed into a computer and a 3d printer and hey Presto - one week later you buy a near perfect colour figurine of yourself. All for £60. They look pretty good and the store is hoping to sell these nationwide by August.

Sorry but I don't have no pics of this but it should be on the news somewhere.

My wife says they look great but they will need to have a hellova lot of resin to make one of me. The cheek!!

Yeah ! I tried it! ...... great results!

Hi Jazz

Cor blooming heck is there nothing that Asda won't go into ........like you reckon I will need a lot of resin..but rather more than the last time we met!!!!!

Perhaps we will see a price war between the stores now .....

Cheers Mirofsoft, I knew someone out there would find a video eventually. The one I saw has the person standing in something like a tanning booth while photos are taken automatically but the results are the same. Pretty cool eh?

Hi Jazz,
There is some great scope in that one, I'm going to get a life sized one of me, place it at the work bench and then jump over the back fence and off to the pub with the lads.:ROFLMAO:

I can just see all of us going down to Asda dressed up, the queue would a Roman, a German, a Napoleonic, a German, a 24th Foot:rolleyes:, a Roman, a bust with medals......mind I think if Roger is going to do flats he might need to jump under a steam roller first.:D

This could be a great opportunity in the future, imagine taking your favourite 54mm and coming out with a 1/6 version. We might not complain so much about going shopping then.
cheers
Richie

Hi Richie ,

Reckon you have got it in one about the types in the line up .....think the medals one would do for me ....just the medals of course in order to ensure I get the perfect reproduction of my perfectly honed torso ..........

Steady guys ...it is muscle ..just relaxed !

Well Richie, if we're going down the pub dressed up I'm going as a cowboy. On second thoughts maybe not. Dressing as a cowboy got me into all sorts of trouble last time.
Kev, the perfect torso, hold onto that thought mate.

Good idea Richie, but I'll place my copy behind my desk at work and go to the work bench myself! Let's see how long it takes them to find out... I love my work, it's just a pity it takes up so much spare time!

Cheers
Adrian
