"The Roll Call" by Lady Butler (a part of it) you can also buy as remi-round figures at 2D-figures (Brian Keywood)

Interestingly, the painting by David of Bonaparte crossing the alps was based on one of the artists sons perched on a chair. This accounts for the subjects youthful appearance and terrible riding position not to mention the uniform selection.

It does, however make for a dramatic painting and equally stunning series of models

The kit did look a bit strange pointing at nowhere, so I made an attempt at mocking-up the bureau

"Duel on Kulikovo Field" was by Mikhail Avilov, and not by Dimitrij Aleksandrowitsch Shmarin.
You can find the original post in 'Artists and Illustrators' HERE.

In addition, I would draw your attention to my latest post in 'Artists and Illustrators' regarding Google searches.

Sorry for being an 'Artist counter'.
The artist was Antoine-Jean Gros (not Hippolyte Bellangé).
You can check by following the link in the 'Artists and Illustrators' list, which will lead you to Jai's link to many of his paintings.

Cheers,
Andrew

this is the painting by Gros (miniature inspiration)

Bellangé was a pupil of Gros of whom the reproduction of the previous painting was
it was not a serious mistake by Martin :)

More recently I bought the Rokeby Venus and Botticelli Venus kits from El Viejo Dragone which are nice little sculpts but sadly OOP now. I'll try to find pictures
