Is this magazine worth getting hold of? Please keep in mind that i do not speak French (nor do i intend to learn :)), I guess it woul donly serve as a picture reference.

Keith, I can't read or speak a word of French either but they say a picture speaks a thousand words :) I think Figurines is the magazine by which all others are judged, I don't think you'd be disapointed.

Figurines is a terrific magazine. I don't subscribe however. I do however pick up an issue or two from the bargain bin at Red Lancers or Sentinel at the shows. It is certainly popular. I'm guessing it outsells HM 10-1. I think Soldatini provides an English insert. I would love to see Figurines do this. I'd probably buy every issue. What Leigh says about the pictures is true. I remember an article about painting heraldry. It was well photographed in sbs pictures and the text or captions were really superfluous.

I can make out some French but realistically not enough to enjoy reading an article. However that said Figurines' images, drawings and overall print quality are not exceeded by anyone.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I was successful in picking up about a dozen of these, but was beaten to another 30 or so back issues :( .Haven't ppicked them up yet but am looking forward to looking at all those lovely pictures.

Anyone have information regarding subscription costs and is there a current website?

Hi Bob

There's no website. Hard to believe, but true...

You can get it for 40 Euros a year in North America.
Contact Histoire and Collections directly via phone or e-mail. You get a free figure with the subscription.

To e-mail it's [email protected]. The people there are quite friendly, and can handle English messages! ;) They take credit cards, and you can call them or send the number broken up across multiple messages.

I get my copy pretty promptly from France. They send it airmail. It works out to about US$8 per issue with the current exchange rate.
