Good news, my latest commercial sculpt is now finished and has gone off for casting, so keep your eyes peeled at Euro 2010!! This not only means that I can now give some attention to other sculpting projects but I can also indulge myself in my one of my other hobbies; living history. This week I was fortunate enough to attend the War & Peace show at The Hop Farm in Kent. From Wednesday through to Sunday I lived in a slit trench, forgave shaving and washing, ate period army rations and tried to recreate the Oosterbeek perimeter outside Arnhem, 1944. I've attached a couple of photos for your interest. Watch this space for more sculpting updates but I'm taking a little break first... Matt

I have made a couple of forays into the forum but haven't posted anything new for ages! Hopefully should be carrying on with the 'Angel of Arnhem' piece sometime soon.

... I bet you missed me too though?!

Hi Matt,

I was at the show on the Saturday. Saw the little 5pm skirmish in the woods with FJR 6, did you take part in that one?

It was a good show, impressive to see FOUR Dragon Wagons! I spent 9 hours there + 5 pints of cider + sunburn!

Cheers,
Jon.

Hi Matt,

I most certainly was but due to the shortage of decent blank ammo I had a bandolier full of second rate Egyptian .303 - pull the trigger, wait 5 minutes, bang! Then the bolt jammed solid so I thought it best to 'die' but didn't see the nettles 'till it was too late!

Did you check out FJR6's CP? Superb stuff, I got a pup tent that I shared with a shrew for 4 nights.

Excellent weekend though, the modelling tent was pretty good especially since I found my Chindit figure nicely painted up on a plinth and everything!
