I have in the gray army an Imperial Gallery bust of a Native American with alot of feathers. I do not now for sure if i gonna paint him as i see the struggling of you.
It took 2 days to assemble the bustle and another 2 days to build the roach. Overall the effect was worth the effort and it turned out well.
Here is the start of the roach with the first clump of hair epoxyed to the front of the roach pad.
Here is how I have set up my work bench with a box to set the vise on ( puts the head closer to work on) and a small vise to hold the bust in place. I use a dremel vise to hold another tool to help support the hair while the epoxy sets.
After 2 days........finished, but yet to be painted roach.
Dry fitting the bustle to the back to check fitment with the roach.
WOW! I can see now why it took so much effort! Well worth it though. I think the shape and effect of it are perfect. It really comes to life with the paint. Good stuff Guy!
Thanks Dave for the kind words. It was a difficult figure as you had to drill for all the bustle feathers as well as do the roach by hand after cutting the strands to the right legnth. But I think it was well worth the effort.
