Since the weather is too nice to sit inside & paint, I usually use the summer months to clean & partially assemble figures, restock supplies, do a little research, stuff like that. I recently bought some unfinished wood pieces from a local hobby store that might make pretty nice bases. Staining them isn't a problem but does anyone out there know how to get that hard, glossy finish (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) like the fancy bases sold by dealers or at shows? Thanks in advance.
