Hi everyone,
This is my first figure ever I place on the internet,im a bit unsure about the way I paint.
I have learn everything from youtube video's and try to do my best to get a nice painted bust.

I hope it's a little bit good and must also say it's not my first figure I have done, because in the beginning I did 1/35 scale ,but it's to small for me because I don't see it very good anymore.

Im absolute not a professional painter ,it's just a hobby for me ,because WW2 is absolute my era, because my grandfather was also a soldier then,

I hope you like it a bit ,the figure is from RP models

Thank you very much

I think you've done really well with this figure. Moving from 1/35 to a bigger scale also means you have to try new techniques because there is so much more detail, and you did a great job. How did you paint this -with oil paints or acrylics? Or maybe a combination.

Hi NigelR
Thank you very much for the kind words. Yes,it's a very big difference from 1/35 to paint a bust ,I try and try and try till I was happy with the result,it's absolute not like all the other ones here, but I just do my best.
This is all paint with acrylics because to be honest I didn't know they also paint this figures with oil paints, and now stil no ide how to do that,im painting now
for 2 years I think but a bust just for 10 months. I like more to do busts then 1/35 scale

Kind regards
Mario

Thats lovely Marco, l thought it was in oils as you have made such a good job with the transitions.

Look forward to seeing more.

Keith

Hi Keith,

No no,absolute no oils :) I didn't know you can paint in oils ,so I must learn a lot, now I know you can paint with oils from here on PF
and thanks a lot for the comment
Regards,
Mario

I think you did well with acrylics and I would continue with them. Oil paints require a lot of time and practice to master, and it is better to stick with what you know already.

Most of the people who use oils tend to be older people like me who started painting figures a long time ago...... (sorry to any young people who use oils). I use mostly acrylics now.

I think it looks good. I like the expression you've painted in the face.

Steve
Hi Steve,
For me,im happy with it,but it can always be better
And the face is normal my biggest problem ,always
I lik to have e the face that the figures are in the war, that it looks tired and aggressive

Thank you very much,

Mario

Thank you, I started with acrylics and dont know anything else, and like you say,I gonna stay with acrylics because I begin to know a bit how to work with it,and euh im also not that
young anymore :) LOL I have absolute no idea how to work with oils ,so I am not gonna use them, I just dilute my paint a lot (not like water) it's hard to explain this,
and thank you Nigel

Nicely finished, Mario!
My only complaint isn't for your work, but with the figure. That looks nothing like Peter Lawford! :D

Prost!
Brad

hahahaha....this is a good one Brad :) and if you should have a complain about the paint ,that is something I can learn from it then,
to be honest is the best thing I say,and thank you ,that you like it.

Hi there Mario

Well done on sharing this , as I said on FB PF is for all levels , you've done a nice paint on this , if I may for me the highs are a little too much ....but that's me ! ...just a comment my friend

Nicexwork on the Bergman and webbing

There's a lot of pieces to paint on this , did you build it all up or paint each part and then add ?

I kept braking the weapon barrel on mine ! .....it was eventually pinned in place

Which acrylic are you using , I am thinking of getting the AK Series 3

Hi there Kev,

Thank you very much, yes I done it finally like you say on FB ,everybody is doing there best ,and we can learn from the comments we get,
yes, this can be that the highlights are a bit to bright ,maybe I gonna bring the tone down with a little darker wash ????

Absolute a lot of pieces to paint this one...... I have done the head , the M1 carbine , grenade and backpack apart and then add,the arms I put already on the bust

I used vallejo acrylics and some from ammo Mig

But im somethimes not happy with the color from the lips,it's to dar,I like to do them smoother but don't get there ,it's always struggling with the face also,
I think I have all the colors I need for flesh tones ,,but use the in the wrong way I think????

The other 2 figures from RPModels I have also done but gonna wait a bit to put them here, and I break the barrel from Ben Vandervoort :) put it's already fixed now,

Thank you very much for the comment Kev,and gonna look for tone down the highlights and gonna look att the other figures if it's not to bright,

Mario
