That really is a long term project, though not as long as some on here. Go for it, the more Airborne the better, got to bring a touch of class to the proceedings.
Cheers Simon
didn't know it was so long LOL ,there gonna follow more airborne, also a bust from the filthy thirteen from D day ,remember
Mario
Hi Mario
All the hard work , research, painting and presentation here has made it all worth it
You've done a really good job on both Figure and the aircraft
Liking the damage on aircraft and the camo on his face
Pleasure to see
Thanks for sharing
Looking forward to seeing the next
Have fun @ the bench

That's stunning Mario. Alot of work indeed but worth it for this.
Great attention to detail throughout. Love the face and you nailed the eyes.
But the wood effect on the rifle is perfect looking.
Do you have any special technique or just work it back and forth til you are happy with how it looks?
Tremendous piece a collector would love to have I'm sure mate .
This is the first one I have actually seen painted and this one has really set a high bar. The muted colours look perfect.
A completed figure to be proud of for sure!
Gary
Fantastic job Mario! Well worth the large effort.
Cheers,
Ken

Thank you, this is very kind what you say ,this must be good for my confidence,Im always unsure ,maybe It getting better now

Are you talking about the rifle how I paint it ?? and colors I use ???
That is absolute my thing Rocco, I love the airborne and other figures that remember me on D-Day ,I was there in Normandie in 2019
and it was absolute so so impressive too see,I never forget this
Thank you very much Rocco

The butt of the rifle I really like the look of the wood
Totally superb work. So well painted.
oh boy,how must I explain this in English gonna try OK
The colors I use is Light mud,old wood, light rust, burnt umber, black red, black, german camo black brown
I start the rifle complete in black
then I start to make horizontal stripes with light mud and old wood these are from pancer aces but you must see stil the black
then I give it a wash ore glaze with the light rust and let it dry complete
you gonna see it make the things a bit darker after that and
then I start with the darker stripes , red black, black brown dry again
again old wood not to much and light mud and then a wash, glaze from burnt umber always stripes
and after that you must get a result like that, not happy if you see too much dark ore light color,go further
till you are happy and then varnish att the end
oh boy,I hope you can understand this a bit,I have try to do my best
Mario
