started my first figure model, way different from armor models. It is a hornet 1/35 SS NCO with camo smock and pants. I don't have many references yet so I think im going to do the pants in Italian camo and the smock in spring oakleaf.

So far i have put a base on everything and the face is about 90%, if anyone has any sugjestions or hints PLEASE feal free I need all the help I can Get ;) .

By the way, how do ya'll get piping on things so crisp, mine looks like crap I think i need toinvest in an opti-visor.

Pretty good for your first attemt. The pictures aren't real clear, but the eyes look a little "droopy." You might want to trim them across the bottom. As far as painting the piping, I like to use a liner brush. The longer bristles absorb the inevitable shakes without transferring them to the line you are painting. It's probably heresy to use such cheap brushes, but I have had good luck with American Painter brushes that I picked up at Micheal's on sale for $1.50 each. They don't seem to be "hooking" like Taklon brushes normally do. Hope my ramblings have been of some use to you.

Waffenfarbe takes patience!
Are you using oils or acrylics?

Here's a link to an old attempt of mine. I tried a late pattern oakleaf camo on the standing officer. The waffenfarbe was blocked in, then I used the darker colors to 'fix' the lines.
