At the moment I am missing (on the photo) the highlights and shades. I think you us acyrlics. So some dark washes would be great

Good and clean painting

Yes dark wash with oils dark umber mixed to artist white spirit, use a sponge to whipe, let it dry ... again

Lighter tone and light dry brush on all seems let it dry
Dark wash again ... whipe
A tone lighter and again dry brush

Good

Now, try just something more; enhance some details like the chapter badges
Paint them whiter, then using a cylindrical pen and china ink,( black ) write something on it
plume 02.jpg

using sepia china ink and the same pen, underline all recesses arround small parts : chapter badge, chest / legs etc symbols, also under eyes uperlits, arround and inside the chains

If you have a Facebook account jackozaur, then search for the group "eavier metal" and apply to join, it's a painting group that focuses (mainly) on 32mm minis. You'll get all the advice you can handle!

I'd mention 'Eavier Metal too but I'm bias as I help admin that Facebook group ;)

Well done on taking the dive on your first mini. Few tips for starting out though:
>Don't rush. Keeping your painting clean and learning brush control is essential no matter what size mini you paint.
>Use a palette of some type. There's many varieties but a wall tile or old ceramic plate are good to start with. I prefer a wet palette which I can give details on if you want.
>Thin your paint a little on the palette and it'll flow smoothly. You'll get to learn how much to thin as you paint and many will tell you different consistencies. Avoid painting directly from the pot as it can ruin the brush and help paint dry in the pot too.
>Ask questions of others who paint.
>Don't fear mistakes. They are a huge part of learning.
>Enjoy it.
