Fl Lt Nicolson VC

Hi everyone, Another bust from Mitches Military Models, this time Fl. Lt Nicolson VC. Again painted in oils over enamels. If anyone has any advice regarding a suitable varnish or other technique which I could use for the lenses on the flying goggles ( which won't react with the oils) then I would greatly appreciate it. Again, any comments or advice would be very welcome.

When I did mine, I think I just used a thin layer of PVA over the top

Depends on how thick your PVA is, just enough so it flows but doesn't take forever to dry

Hi there

That looks great for the lens I use Kristal Klear ..used by aircraft modellers for duals , Windows etc ...surface tension moves it across , milky when on drys totally clear

I think you'll find that's just an expensive way of buying PVA.

Deluxe materials do a similar thing for windows in planes, a guy that tests their products for them admitted as such (but don't tell anyone)

How about Pledge floor care. It is water based and I use it for eyes on figure faces in oils. Also used for Aircraft Canopies.
