For Jaume Ortiz- brushes?

Hey Jaume-

que pasa contigo? I posted a question for you on your 120 mm Fallschirmjager thread but realized I probably should have posted it for you here. I've been a big fan of your work since seeing it for the first time about a year and a half ago after I got back from Iraq and was catching up on the hobby after a year away.

I've never noticed a mention of what kind of brushes you use in your X-Treme Modelling writeups( and what size they are ) to paint your faces and your uniforms, so I was just curious. Take care & keep up the great work dude.

Hello Stephen I guess he use Kolinsky brushes from 2 to 05 size as almost all of us use, but he got his own style, so he is the person to answer you, just my suggestion

I'm using vallejo and w&n 7 series.Same sizes as Ernest.I have recently bought some brushes for lines and spots 20/0 from micromark(for details only).

I also use W&N series 7 brushes numbers 1,0,00,000 and thats all. I am fully covered by them. I guess Jaume more or less used the same as the rest of us. Its mostly the skills that make a good figure,notthe brushes alone, but surely helps tohave good tools !!

I too use W&N no. 7s, but swear that an alien takes control of them when they're in my hands. I manage to make 40€ worth of my brushes produce effects like a 40c brush.

Actually, Jaume uses a cheaper "off brand" (I can't think of the name of them) to achieve his fantastic results. He gave me one of them at World Expo after an impromtu seminar. I tried it and honestly, I prefer my WN brushes as well but who can argue with Jaume's results? I for one will not! :lol:

I use Escoda brushes.These are kolinsky hair and cheaper than W&N or DaVinci but,in my opinion,of high quality nd only for 2,5€
The number 0 is good to me for every purpose.

I'll have to check out the Escodas. I use W&N series 7's now ( like a lot of the other guys who posted, and i can't argue with the W&N qualities ) but definitely wanted your two cents on the brushes you use. Of course, like it was said earlier, the brushes don't make the figure a good one but certainly help if they are good quality. BTW, are the Escodas you use a brand easily available here in the States? Anyway, thanks for the input. Take care dude.

take a look at Escoda web site. there is a list of dealers in the US.

I followed Jaume's advice some time ago and changed from Da Vinci to Escoda and my painting did improve...nothing .
