Morning all as a change from the WW1 biplanes I'm mainly working on these days i found this old Foxwood figures bust lurking at the back of the cupboard and thought it'd be a nice simple little project to swing the brushes on :)

Sculpted in very typical style by Carl Reid about 1/12 - 1/14th scale. It's a Private 18th Battalion of the King's Royal Rifles 1917.
I found it needed a bit of 'finishing off' around the eyes with magic sculpt, but otherwise it's pretty much as cast (in resin). I used a fairly loose painting style rather than going for a completely polished look since this seemed to work best with Carl's sculpting. Lot's of fun trying to bring a bit of life to the various textures.
Apologies for the crappy pictures

LOL:ROFLMAO:

He's 1/72 mate to go alongside the 1/72 German 'Floh' model built a couple of months ago (Trust you approve of the hand carved laminated prop)

Who knows what might appear next . . . .

Many thanks gentlemen.

that's really very nice Paul, nice to see you back on the figures.
Cheers Neil. Bit of a break from the other stuff. Being a simple casting that I'd already assembled and done a bit of work to I managed to wrap this one up in about a week of spare time and it's proved to be an excellent 'battery recharger' ;)

that is looking very nice

Thanks Marco. Could probably do with a bit more work, but I'm leaving it for the moment. I may have another look at it in a few weeks . . . .

superb painting old boy, lovely.

Hi Bob, glad you approve (Nice work on the box art piece that you're doing as well. At least there's no gold lace on this one!:ROFLMAO:)

Superb paintwork in all miniatures.

That's very kind of you to say so Sergei. Chatting to a clubmate last night about painting this one and he was surprised that I'd done it all with just the single brush (A No 1 size sable) The whole thing was done very quickly with lots of wet on wet work for most of it.

Excellent painting, no doubt about it. 100% nailed it.

Glad you like it A. - hopefully catch up at a show soon (y)

Lovely work Paul, subtle and beautifully done, full of character. He would be a nice addition to the GWSIG display at Romsey ;)

It still amazes me that Winston Churchill was involved in the development of the Floh.....:D

Seriously, lovely work in 1/72 (y)

Morning Nigel, glad you like it (y)

:ROFLMAO: (Yes, little known fact about Sir W's involvement in the development of the Floh, but sadly he soon lost interest in designing aircraft and moved into Politics instead);)

Catch up soon matey

Very nice work on the bust Paul.
The detail you've achieved on the 1/72 scale figure is superb.
I well remember the intricate detail you painted on Buffalo Bill's megaphone.
Keep up the good work. I always enjoy having a close look.

Cheers,
Andrew
