This is one of my favorite kits. I have had it for a long time but never had the nerve to paint it. After I switched to acrylics I decided to give it a go. So here it is and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Thanks again Robin. Like I said before, this has to be my favorite kit. I really don't much about the period but I just fell in love with the kit when I saw it years ago and I knew that I had to have it.

I really can't come to grips with acrylics, I guess it's all about knowing the right techniques, as a matter of interest how long did it take you to paint this one ?

Another Great work....Joe,

You handle the dark blues well and the cowhide back pack is great. Great flesh tones.

Thanks Guy and Leigh. Here are a few more pictures. I hope these are some better.

Leigh, I painted this figure in about a week. What is nice about the acrylics is that I painted it in sections. I would paint a section of where the straps would make little dividers and so on.

Joe, Bore? You are much too modest my friend. I really like this figure and you've done a fantastic job. Jason Whitman would go nuts over this, as the Franco Prussian war is one of his favorite periods.~Gary

Hey Gary,

Thanks again for such kind words. I hope that Jason gives it a look and lets me know his thoughts on this figure. I really like what he has been doing with his orginials.

If anyone is interested in the Franco Prussian War I suggest they get hold of Champs D'Honeur which is a French movie made in the late eighties on the war with some very nice battle scenes. I am surprised there have not been more movies since the war had so much intrigue and drama. I have seen the movie for sale on E-bay every once in awhile.

Joe , you have done a great job. Not particularly my period but great figure anyway. Well done again

Richard,

Thanks very much. I have to admit the blanket roll was the hardest part of the whole kit for me, so thanks for liking it. :) Here is a better view, I think.

Leigh, I will look around. I have a copy and if worse comes to worse I could probably duplicate it. My copy is in NTSC and I am sure there are PAL versions out there as well.

Leigh and Stephen

Thanks. I will tell you the fastest figure that I have painted lately is the Wyatt Earp. He was painted over 4 nights, approx. 12 hours. I was surprised at how well it went and I set up little goals each night and it all fell into place.

When do we get to see some of your work?

Joe
