Very nice Bert, I think you got to do more shading and highlighting.
But do that on another figure. Once you start to strip or making finished figures better, you never finish another figure.
It's a learning process.....the more figures you paint, the better they look.
I think that we never gonna paint our best figure.

Why would you want to emulate some other figure painter when you got your own style and obvious high painting skills?
Great job on a nice figure Marc.

Thanks.
I only like the color's that Ernesto painted. It was different then the boxart and i liked how he painted this figure up. I hope someday i have the skills like Ernesto Reys, Ray Farrugia, Danilo Cartacci and some other grandmasters.
I think setting a goal for yourself makes that you gonna paint better by every figure.

Jim, thanks for looking.
The pattern is painted with a 000 serie 7 wich hold a very small point.
Then with a darker shade painting in a random pattern. After that highlight every spot, leaving here and there some untouched.
It was with try and error. Painted seven times before i was satisfied. So it was done on a very dry oilpaint.

Well done, Marc! This was going to be my question as well. I really like the effect you acheived on the cape both with the pattern and the shine. I've often visualized something similar on a few figures I painted in the past but there's no way I can pull it off. This is nicely done! Impressive work!

Cheers,
Karrie

Karrie thanks for taking the time and commenting.
Don't be afraid to paint a pattern. It has to be once the first time, if it doesn't works the first time, try again, and again.
It's the only way we can improve our work to a higher level.

Hey Marc,
I've seen this figure in Dusseldorf last weekend.
The pictures aren't doing the figure any good. It's much better in real life.
The back is very well done.
One of your best work from what I saw on your display last saturday.

It will always be a learning process.
