Hello,

This is my freikorps figure.
It is based on a illustration in a Man at Arms book on the german Freikorps.

Next thing to do are the arms, pocketflaps, epaulettes and collars.
Thanks for watching, hints tips and comments are welcome.

kind regards,
Robert Jan

Good work so far Robert. One suggestion though.I don't feel the kneecaps under the clothing especially on his right leg so i suggest you sculpt them roughly before you start sculpting the clothing or take it into consideration when you do.
The same goes with the elbows.

All best

Hello fellow modellers,

A little update. The left arm is almost completed. Some details still need to be added.

Hi Robert Jan
Your work is really progressing mate! Is his left arm designed to be resting upon something? I believe from the photos shown that his left upper arm appears to look a little long? If you can locate the elbows and the point of each shoulder I'd measure the left compared to the right to be doubly certain. Of course they could both end up being the same length, which as I said to me looks a little long... That said, the folds you have put into each arm look very natural. The top of the sleeve could do with a bit more of an outward curve as per the reference photo to maybe define the shoulder a bit more?
Nice choice of figure; I know nothing of the Freikorps though!
What is the putty you are using?
Cheers
Brad

Hello,

Georges and Bradley, Thanks for the compliments and feedback.

Bradley, I can't change the figure that much anymore, but your points are noted. Thank you very much! I will keep the arm issue in mind when sculpting my next figure.
I used Magicsculp for the body and duro for the clothing.
I didn't knew much about the Freikorps either but it is a very interisting subject to explore. I especially like the various helmet markings, so i will do a couple more Freikorps figures when i get the chance..

Greets,
Robert Jan

Nice! I've made a German Sailor of the November Revolution of 1918 two years ago. Would be a nice enemy for him! :)

Hello,

I have finished the sculpting fase. I will give it a good look on flaws and hope to start with the painting soon

Robert Jan -

Thanks very much for showing off the in process work. As a neophyte sculptor, seeing the progression is useful.

Cheers-

Keith
