Todays update.
I need to re-do the Grenadier cap plate to make it look like it is straight on his head. A close look at my previous photo's will show what I mean.

He's coming along well Roger (y)

Somehow this one passed me by, I'm glad I found it now. And blue is defo your colour ;)

it looks like you've started a flats epidemic, it seems everyone has caught the bug recently :)

I'm going to do my first ever flat soon roger,so any tips would be helpful

The best piece of advice I was given was to mount your flat on a piece of card assuming you're painting one side, draw an arrow to remind you of your light source. Top right or left. You can decide which will look best by studying how it has been designed/engraved.
For example,

Exaggerate the light and shade much more than you would on a round figure and when you think you have finished light and shade it again. This is usually best done after you put it aside for a hour or two so you get a fresh look at it.
Once you get started don't hesitate to ask me any questions you have and I'll do my best to help if I can.

Beautiful work, Roger, especially on his face, and on the coloring and highlights on his coat and leggings. Are you finished now with his cap, or will you add anything to the cap plate/

Prost!
Brad
