A likely final posting from myself prior to seeing the piece cast up.
Richard asked where the "inspiration" for the piece came from... A book cover - from the period or not long after, interesting representation of the various units of the French Army of the time. There then followed some head scratching on my part as I attempted, with my meagre Franco-Prussian War knowledge to work out what uniform best represented the central figure. Hence after some umming and aahhing I settled on the Tirrailleurs Algeriens. If anyone has a better fit, feel free to post your thoughts - I won't be changing anything - especially the flag.....................but it'd address my intellectual curiousity.
The Eagle is now complete
And like all well dressed standards...... has a cravat - which I believe is the correct technical term
not quite complete but near as damnit and you get the idea as to how it'll look. Anyhow, hope people enjoy the posting and thanks for the positive comments
Is an amazing work Keiss, I have not enough words for describe your work on flag..wow, I'll be panting box art on a few weeks and I had though about put the flag vertically for a better enjoy of your sculpting work...is a sick that one of the parts of the flag were down.
I would like you and Ian tell me your opinion ..I think is a good idea but I wait your comments. .They are important for me.
Should be a simple enough matter of shaving the wrist a touch so you can turn it 90 degrees or so, then just make sure you pin everything up, hand to arm and arm to body, then body to base
Yes Krissi, but the arm don´t need be turned , in original position it would be correct too, I don´t know if I am explaining well, sorry. I say that the only piece that must be turned is the hand is ok?
