Hi Osvald. As I can see the tones of the horse are very well done. I like the soft transitions of colors and tones, specially between the black and brown in the legs and around the mouth. Adding more or less contrast here and there is a question of taste.
Considering the big scale of the figure( 90mm) I would try to simulate a bit the hair effect in the body of the horse using the brushes, but it´s only a suggestion.

Wool will undoubtedly be. While this is only a sketch for further painting.
I want to know the opinions of professionals from the tone horse. Horse of Hanover ....
Sorry for my english;)

Tone and horse skin are very well done.
Be careful with weight of figure.
I had experience with painting this one sometime ago and unfortunately horse was fallen.
So I used additional pins in horse legs.

Good luck!

Yes, this is looking very nice, Osvald, and you have avoided over defining the muscle masses. You say that this is a preparatory "sketch", so did you deliberately leave the eyes unpainted? At the moment, he looks as though he might bump into something!
Cheers, Phil

Eyes will be. It is still possible to correct the tone transitions, toning.
I think the nose is too dark .......?
Abdomen may need a light?

This is nice good tones for a Dark Bay ,the muzzle could be lighter as in most cases the pink of the skin shines through but there are exceptions so it is still fine.
Re the suggestion of painting individual hairs on the coat Im not a big fan of that, you cant see this in a real horse at ten paces unless it is a heavy winter coat .
Under belly tends to be lighter also as the hair is thin at this point.
Just minor details .

According to Mrs Helm the household horse expert it is fine as Ron said the muzzle could be lighter but a lot of bays have a dark one so it's fine (y)

Tones look good .Just wondering how the horse has "fallen" when he is standing on three legs ? I always worry about this happening on these large figures .

The horse has deviated from its initial position. Deviation was very noticeable through a month and there were cracks at the bottom of the hooves. Probably it was a defect in my casting of the figure.

Sounds like a nightmare ,I wish these manufacturers would cast the horses in resin like Post Mil did with their Ugrian Standard Bearer . Problem solved .

Colleagues, I have a question - do hair on the forehead?
On a small scale, 54 mm, the general background is normal, everyone is watching ....
Then on 90 mm ..? .. should be given fur everywhere, and it is not to scale and is not correct. I think so ......L2.JPGL 1.JPG
