The outfit was - as with the "Imperial" - in blue...

... and in white, "suit white" was the order of the day for the Dardanelles operation!

The ship "Gaulois" (Gaul)...

... by the way did not survive the Dardanelles mission: On a trip to Salonika, the liner was torpedoed by SMS UB 47 ...

... under Oberleutnant zur See Wilfgang Steunbauer...

... on December 27, 1916 and sank. The crew was almost entirely rescued by the escort ships, only four crew members died....

Cheers

What a classy sculpt, great face on him

Just goes to show how good a figure simple in pose can be

Certainly going to paint up well

Thanks for sharing

Doesn’t get much better than Benoit & Jean-Luc (visionary behind all Wars & Peaces Miniatures).
Part of Benoit’s WME Gold Medal winning display.
This wee Gaulois is on the waters as we write.
Do grab yours while you can - more to come…

I am tempted by this, however I have tried to get a shipping cost to the UK on the website and it does not update????
I'm guessing this will end up in excess of £45, so might be a deal breaker. Pity a lovely natural figure.
cheers

Contact Jean Luc direct on his email above for a postage quote Richie. I think its in the region of €16 postage to the UK from what I can remember (I have his WW1 French stretcher bearer). Well worth it. You won’t be disappointed .

In a world of figurines where all periods and uniforms and poses have been explored, these figurines stand out as very original. I love poses, faces, choice of subjects.......if I start focusing on WWI, this will be my first choice

Superb in every way. Beautiful in it's apparent simplicity.

I've just checked out their website. It has the best collection of figures I've seen in a long, long time. Particularly the French ones, each a masterpiece.
