Hi Guys ,

Following on from my recent post for Linjo's other release its my pleasure to share with you another that has come from the Orient .

Linjo are quite rightly very proud of their countrys history and heritage and have released a bust that depicts someone from that so historicl past .

The subject is a historical figure of immense importance in Chinese history , a man high in status and high in respect , a genius with the both the sword and the pen ...a leader of men and state .

Some fab detailing on this, but the sculptor really needs to get on top of ear placement.

I so wish they'd base their stuff on primary research (particularly for Chinese stuff) rather than 'borrowing' from movie imagery, with all its attendant issues.

Nice bust, but i agree about the ears. To low .
But a great challenge to paint this one.
Problem with the ears can easy be solved.....cut them away and set them on a few mm higher.

I think its a terrific bust and chock full of detail just crying to be painted.
Dont notice that the ears are too low, remember this is from a photo and not holding the actual bust in your hand.
I notice he has the same number of ears as I have so how many do you guys need.
Lovely bust.

Dear Mirosoft,

The dragon robe that you shared is from the much later and last Qing Dynasty. I think that Linjo's research for their Chinese costumes is about as well as one can make it, given the paucity of information in this field.

How many times have you done this successfully Marc? ;)

The photos give enough info Don - trace the line of the brows and the base of the nose backwards, following the shape of the head. Besides, the sculptor apparently has a bit of a problem with this as in the other piece in News currently the ears are also low, but even more than here.

So that's what Van Gogh was up to.
