Hello Gents
Here are 2 images of my latest work: 1/16 Russian Officer.
I've been working on this figure too long...
He will have 2 signal flags in his hands. This one will be released
Jan. 2007. I will try to post images of a complete resin model of
the figure this weekend. Any comments and questions are welcome
as usual :)

Taesung,

Great work. I love the face. It's good to see that someone else works in different mediums at the same time like I do.

Thanks Gents for the kind words!
The images are from a few months ago, and
the figure is missing many details in these pics.

Way to go Taesung! This is very nice. All the long work has paid off.
I can't wait to see more shots of this one. This is a "Must have" kit.
Keep rock'n Taesung.

Great leather coat! . And the surface of the gauntelets is superb.
Taesung, I am curious, why the belt is so dirty? :)

Hello Gents
Thanks for the kind words.
Since the jacket and the trousers were done many months ago,
I wish I could re-do many areas regarding the wrinkles and folds.
Well, it's too late now I'll try to do a better job next time :)
I'm currently studying/working on leather texture in 1/35 and wish I had
done this prior to the 1/16 Russian jacket.... :(

Marvelous sculpting, as always, Taesung!  How do you get the leather parts looking exactly like leather!!!???  I know part of it is getting the folds right, but what else are you doing?

All the best,
Dan
Thanks, Dan
As we know the folds and wrinkles express the fabric material.
Looking at many photos of WW2 French tanker's leather jackets
and german u-boat leather uniforms, I also noticed there are differences
between leathers. Some thin and buttery, and some thick and rough,
and some old and stiff.
I only wish I had known this when I was working on the Russian figure! :(

I'll post some images of my new 1/35 figures in leather uniforms
when they are presentable. Let's discuss further then :)

Hello Taesung,

Great job as usual! The pose particularly. I hear what you are saying about the leather coat. I find that when doing leather, i usually want to deepen the wrinkles a bit. Of course that depends on the quality of the material as you say, but the exaggeration tends to "read" better visually.

You are on the right track with the light secondary wrinkles on the edges of the skirt at the back. Well, what the hell am i doing telling you how to sculpt???

I will shut up now........! ;)

Good luck with the figure, it really looks nice!

Cheers!!

Mike

Taesung, this is unbelievable. Even in it's 'naked' form this is top. In the hands of a good painter this will be fantastic. You sure are a talent, ever though of doing a Naploeonic, mate? ;)

Hello Gents
Thank you all for the compliments!
Here are more images by Jaume prior to painting. :)
