great looking native figure - I wonder what scale it might be - sort of like the figures done by Mr.Embleton company

I have became a bit curious when reading the description
- so what the great Sioux Nation member might this warrior be?
for as J am reading it there are two explanations for this name:
1. the name is a Fox Dog soldier - so this is a Fox tribesman and a Dog soldier (a military society memeber)?
Foxes were an Algonkian tribe - not a Sioux one, so the name is incorrect.
or
2. this is a Kitfoxes soldier - a member of the most important military society amongst the Sioux (Dakota) Nation(s).
the second option makes more sense to me..
anyone take a guess

Dario, Stuart's figures are 1/4 scale, while Embleton's are typically life-size, though I believe they've done some smaller work.~Gary

Hi folks,

first of all, the figurine is marvelous sculpted and very nice painted. A very good worke!

But I'm confused about the description of the figurine.
This figurine is certain not a Sioux. The Sioux never had the "Iroquoise" hairstyl also the cloth is not Sioux. Stille the question reamins, what is menat with the term Sioux, a Lakota, Nakota ore Dakota. The Sioux also had no warrior society named "Dog Soldiers". The Cheyenne as an example had a warrior society called "Dog Soldiers".

If the sculptor means a Fox (Mesquaki) warrior, this tribe is Algonquin and not Sioux. The hairstyle is typical for a Fox warrior, but the knife sheet is certainly Crow. The moccasins are of a style I havn't seen until now. I'm not a specialist on the Fox and Sac tribe, so I can't judge if this figurine is a Fox warrior according to the style of beadworks.

But in any way a superb work in sculpting and painting.

Best regards from Germany

Bruno
