For this latest project,I’ve decided to do something which I’ve been wanting to do for a while now,my first modelling experience back in 1988 was my introduction to the work of Bill Horan, the diorama masterpiece he achieved depicting the last stand of the 44th regiment of foot on the hills just outside Gandamak.
There has been quite a few pieces released in different scales over the years relating to the battle and the 44th,my choice being primarily a bust painter was the excellent bust released by Stuart Hale ( Stormtrooper Miniatures ) a few years ago depicting a sergeant from the battle.
I purchased this piece not long after its release but as I have said I kept it in the grey army until now.
The bust itself was sculpted by Stuart himself and is a beautifully sculpted piece.

This bust is the first of a 2 bust presentation dedicated to the Battle of Gandamak, the 2nd bust I’ve already started to work on and will be posted up shortly,I will post it separately and then finally both busts together on its final base.
