Hi David,
Please accept my most sincere condolances to you and the family. We had many a chat over the years, a fellow modeller who I really liked and admired his wonderful talent. He would be generally sculpting something in hand everytime I saw him. Always with a smile on his face even when life threw him a real curveball.
Another fine model maker to add to the Roll of Honour.**

That’s such sad news , a much respected member in the British Model Soldier Society and of course here on PF
I remember his banter with folk ...always smiling and laughing and loved his modelling

Sad news indeed and my deepest condolences to his family. I knew Gary for many years through the hobby and we always had good chats at shows. He will be sadly missed.

So sorry to hear that Gary has passed on and condolences on your loss.
He was a lovely guy and we used to chat about his creations over the years-I saw him go from crutches to wheelchair and inspite of his severe diabetes he always bore his disabilty with a cheery smile, I found him quite inspirational not only for his dedication to the hobby but his attitude to life.

Hello everybody
It was with sad news we saw this thread above from Gary’s brother
Gary was a great Guy to have around at shows , full of life , cheeky and always happy to share his modelling projects , not only painting but particularly sculpting
A member of the British Model Society till about 2005/8 when he left due to ill health and a member of PF from 2013-2020
Always seemed to be smiling despite a lot of medical concerns including loosing a limb ....oh yes I remember his use of his crutches ...against my ankles ...”ouch” and then when he was in a wheelchair he ran over my toes ....”double ouch”
......but his infectious laugh and comments to me just made it okay!
His sculpting was a pleasure to see and appreciate the skill he had , sculpting for many companies , you can see some in the pictures above including UEM and MDP and DARKSTAR
One of my favourites was Falstaff ....a great sculpt of the face here’s my review of the piece
