Hi Folks,

I finished the model using a combination of Artist Oil (Winsor Newton) and Acrylic Paints ( JO SONJA's Artists Acrylics) . I also used some Model Master enamel and Gunze acrylic paints. It was the first model I concentrated on tints and shadows. I'm happy with the results but there is still plenty of room for improvement.

Pinocchio could have been a little better, I am going to try dry brushing
him to lighten him up a little.

Constructive feedback would be appreciated, I mainly do car models and I'm slowly getting addictited to figure modeling.

Dear Peter
if you have just started painting figures you are definetly going the right way.
YOURchoice of colours look very good.
The only suggestion i have(if i may) is that on that scale i'd use only acryilics.
Oil tend to have a shine that become more noticeble on small scales .
There are a lots of articles on how to paint in acryilics and on 54mm figures
can be fun and extremly rewarding(just my opinion).
all the best
Roberto ;)

Peter,

You are on the wright track with painting shadows and lights. But if i where you i should stay with one kind of paint. But not tree using together.
I for instance paint in oils with a underlayer up the primer off Vallejo.
I use oils because for they blend much better than acrylic. But you can achive the same with acrylic but than you need more practice.
But i wished that my first figure looks so good.
Keep painting you are on the good side of the force.

Marc
