Hey Guys,

Here is another one from my past! :) It is one that I really did enjoy and only wish that I could have maybe painted something fancy on the shield but I have a hard enough time drawing stick people! It was painted in acrylics and oils for the skin. The feathers are some that I had purchased from a fly fishing shop.

Hey Roc and Guy,

Thanks very mucjh for the kind words. He was a lot of fun to paint and I have thoughts of doing it again.

Guy,

He is 54 mm and from Pegaso.

Hi Joe,

Well done on the Gladiator - looks great.

I still have this figure in my to do box and your work has inspired me to start thinking about this figure and the possible colour combinations etc.

Will it be possible for you to give a quick run down your metal work I particular like the helmet - looks very realistic.

Well done and thanks for posting it.

Franco

Hey Joe,

A very well painted gladiator. Looking forward to more of your stuffs.

regards

Joe,
I admired your work at MFCA and although your figgers in photo are awesome, they don't compare to them in person...Very nice work. I look forward to meeting you. Hope all is well

Joe,

Very well done. You'd never know that this guy was a few years old. It looks as good as your newer stuff (I hope that sounded right :) ). I also have this one waiting for me in the box & may have to break it out this fall. Great idea using the fishing tackle.

Guys,
Thanks again for the very kind comments. I think this figure is one of Pegaso nicest gladiators. I also like the one that is charging.

Franco,
It is very simple on how I achieved the look on the helment. The kit is a metal one so I polished it up and then took out Raw Umber oil paints and paint it onto the helmet. I then took a wide brush and wped off the paint. I then used a paper towel to get the remaining poils off and this left me with what you see. I did go back and deepen some of the areas with RU and a touch of Mars black. I hope this helps. :) I look forward to seeing yours and Franco's.

Patrick,
Thanks. I too look forward to meeting you and having a chat.

Mike,
You said it prefect and I thank you very much.

Joe

Hey Joe, I'll just echo others' comments. Really nice job. The flesh tones look great, with just enough highlighting and shading.
