Thanks guys all well. Thoughts are with the families of the 8 people confirmed dead so far.
The Clutha was for many years one of my regular haunts and formed a triangle of pubs with the Victoria and the Scotia all within 100 yards of each other and all famous for live music.
It was the sort of place that regularly attracts a great cross section of the community from students including my daughter and her friends to pensioners many of whom were regulars and had patronised the pub for decades.
There but for fortune .........

A great tragedy at any point in the year - just before Christmas even more poignant. My condolences go to all affected by this terrible incident.

My oldest boy phoned from Australia last night, two of his friends who are there with him worked in the Clutha right up 'til they left for Oz. And as fans of Ska they'd all have been there working or as customers to see the band.
My Mother in Laws neighbour has tragically lost her brother.
One of my younger sons friends was hospitalised but thankfully is back home having been examined and stitched up. He seems to be ok as they've all gone skateboarding (oh to be young). I suspect it'll hit him soon.
Just goes to show that most cities are really just big villages.

I thought of you Del when I heard the news, glad you're OK but sorry to hear how those close to you have been affected.
A shocking accident indeed, a feel for all those who have lost loved ones.
