hi all have not been around much fighting a bout of depression lately anyway finally getting some interest back in things .what is better to use to glue pins in larger resin pieces ? superglue or 5 min epoxy ? or does any one use a better product than what I've mentioned ? i have pins by p3 ( privateer press ) i will be using for the pins . thanks

I usually use superglue. If the piece is large or if I'm gluing, for example, the halves of a horse together I like to use epoxy.

I drill the hole to make a tight fit for the pin for which I use metal paperclips. I cut some minor grooves in the pins surface with some wire cutters as this helps the glue to bind into pin and side wall of the hole. Drop some thin superglue into the hole then push the pin in as far as it will go with a pair of pliers and you are good to go.

For larger pieces like 90mm horses in metal or 120mm resin horse I use large scale metal paper clips and superglue and have never had a problem.

Superglue here too. Only thing that varies is the size of pin and the type of superglue.

For pins I use paperclips for most things and guitar wire for tiny parts.

Glue wise, I usually go with standard liquid stuff but some joints get the Gorilla super glue gel (especially tiny parts on Infinity miniatures that I can't pin).

Either one will work. Epoxy gives you more working time, but super glue is easier to remove the pin after the glue sets. My preference is super glue because I hate the smell of epoxy. I also groove the pin like Tommi does.

If the parts don't fit together well and have gaps, I'll use Apoxie Sculpt to fill the gaps. I put the putty between the parts and squish them together. Then smooth the putty with a wet brush or finger.

I use Patex with a drop of cyanolit in it
I have figures full metal 90mm glued that way since 40 years still perfectly standing

ok superglue it is . i questioned it because one of our cats knocked over a jimmy flintstone resin piece i have and it cracked where the pieces were joined .
