Hi, has anybody had any success in gluing/fixing chain link(necklace style) into a fixed position. I'm trying to get something similar to the image. I have tried using super glue, but just end up with the links filling in with glue, I was considering using fine wire threaded through the links but not sure, any help appreciated.

Try using thinned down PVA glue - there will inevitably be a very thin film of glue in the links, depending on the fineness of the chain, but once painted and highlighted, almost impossible to detect....(y)

Funny you should mention that because, that is what I ended up doing, but didn't thin it down. It still has a slight flex to it(after 2 coats) but it does tend to shrink around the chain.
