I've been painting figures and bust now, pretty much exclusively, for what, the last three years.
And I'm enjoying it, but I'm stuck. I cant seem to get past the "that's nice" level. I'm stuck on a "that's ok" level, and I know why.
My eyes, and my brain, just dont work with the painted highlights and shadows, that make our subjects pop.
This was brought home to me when I looked at some of my old models, like the one below.
I enjoy building and creating rubble, mud, and snow. And I'm good at it. Better than skint ones, or highlighting folds of fabric..
