Gold lace painting advice

Good morning all.
I'm starting the lace work on hussar busts and am looking for advice on taking the lace to the next level.
I've got the depth bit down but have noticed that some painters are doing a "hatched" look to bring out the different colours in the lace.
Any advice would be grand.

I can't seem to get it to open, the' open in a new tab' isn't highlighted...I managed to copy and paint it onto a word document.

Hmmm I've just tried it and it's working for me.
Right click on the image and a list comes up of half a dozen options, click the top one Open Image In A New Tab.
Sorry for repeating myself and telling you what you've already done but just in case. Don't know what elses to suggest I'm afraid.
